Dog Training 101: Hidden Stay Command

She wrote about for a walk with the dog in the city you want to pop into a store we’re going to show you how you can have the dog wait patiently for you when you go inside the first idea is that you know that practiced a down command with the dog in a non distracting environment then when you get to the store give your down command give your stay command back away but stay within the sight of the dog allow the dog time to accustom itself to the new amount of distractions. Boy stay. Once the dog is done well praise them give the stay return inside the store this time. Stand for thirty seconds. Pop out of the dog can see you and know that you haven’t left them abandon them. Go back inside the store for a minute to minute know how to pop out again gradually increasing the time that you’re out of sight of the dog now the first few times that you go to the store go with the intention only of practicing this exercise do not go with the intention of shopping guy so with this exercise don’t expect the dog to stay outside the store for forty five minutes the first time you go work from five minutes build up gradually every day over the course of three to four weeks and when you practice for forty five minutes you know at that point that you can trust the dog comfortably for twenty to thirty minutes or so but the time and have some fun with it it’s a very useful exercise and take your dog everywhere you go you will have a problem.
